Bicep Release Glue EP and Music Video

Fresh from the release of their self-titled, debut album in September, Bicep have now unleashed a new EP. The Irish house & techno duo/blogger suprmemos released ‘Glue’ as the leading track on a three song EP release which also features new singles ‘Metro’ and ‘DLR’ via Ninja Tune. To coincide with the release of the EP, Bicep enlisted the directional knowhow of London based filmmaker Joe Wilson to produce the nostalgic music video which features new footage of old, and in some cases, now derelict rave sites from years gone by. The ‘Glue’ music video also features flashes of actual comments from YouTube users who have shared memories of raving at the former sites. On the video, Bicep said via their Facebook; “INSPIRED BY THE SONG’S HOMAGE TO THE RAVE ERA. IT’S A SERIES OF LANDSCAPES WHICH REVISIT THE SITES ONCE BROUGHT ALIVE BY NOW INFAMOUS RAVES BUT TODAY SIT DESOLATE AND EMPTY, RETREATING BACK TO THEIR FORMER STATE WITH LITTLE TO SHOW OF THEIR IMPACT THEY HAD ON UK MUSIC CULTURE. JUXTAPOSED WITH THE IMAGES ARE THE HAZY, FRAGMENTED RECOLLECTIONS OF THOSE WHO WERE THERE, LIFTED FROM YOUTUBE COMMENT SECTIONS OF THE GENRE’S MOST DEFINING SOUNDS.” Check out the EP and video for...

But as the track develops everything quickly becomes overrun by a wave of frenetic, funked-out drumming and distressed synths propelling the listener into a new dimension of neon-lit, big beat electronica. ‘Sitar In Melbourne’ is a bold attempt at an infusion of different musical cultures of both old and new as the dulcet tones...
