Axwell Suggests 2019 Swedish House Mafia Tour at NYC Show
Swedish House Mafia could well go on tour next year after Axwell subtly alluded to the possibility during a recent set he was playing with Sebastian Ingrosso at New York City’s Brooklyn Mirage.
This year SHM fans have been overwhelmed with speculation and rumours regarding the band’s reunion. However, the Scandinavian trio did eventually reunite at Ultra Music Festival in Miami back in March for the first time since 2012. Up until now, it remained unclear as to whether or not the UMF show would be just a historic one-off or the start of a new chapter for Axwell, Steve Angello & Sebastian Ingrosso.
But an exchange by Axwell with crowd members at their recent Memorial Day performance on May 28th appears to confirm the trio will indeed hit the road next year.
In the video, which can be viewed below, a mischievous Axwell teases the crowd by proclaiming, ”What do we do now? This is a big move. This has never happened before. Should we cancel the Swedish House Mafia gig we’re planning next year? We are not sure they are ready for Swedish House Mafia in 2019.” Before swiftly dropping SHM classic ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ as a banner with the trio’s name on it flashed on the screen.
